The Government of Guyana is moving along with its plan to construct a new Demerara River Bridge and will soon commence the process of pre-qualifying contractors for the project.

The company selected to develop the Waste-to-Energy Plant for the Haags Bosch Sanitary Landfill could be given the green light to sign the contract within the next two weeks. The name of the selected company has not been revealed so far.
According to the Minister for Public Infrastructure of Guyana, David Patterson, the government will not use a PPP model to develop the New Demerara River Bridge (NDRB).

The Government of Guyana (GoG) has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local and foreign parties interested in being a partner in the design, construction and financing of the New Demerara River Bridge (NDRB).
