The nine investors include, among others, Sovico-Imico-Pacific-Cienco 5, Thai Son (under  the Ministry of Defense) - Yen Khanh-Cienco 1, Fecon - Coteccons, Infrastructure Development and Energy Investment JSC - IL&FS (India), Long Thanh Golf JSC, Cuu Long Corporation and Licogi Corporation.

It is expected that the group selected to carry out the project will be announced by the end of this year.

The 23.6 kilometer four-lane highway is one of the three major parts of the Ho Chi Minh City-Can Tho Expressway, which has a total length of 135 kilometers. The project will be implemented on a build operate transfer (BOT) basis.

The total project investment is estimated at VND6.3 trillion (US$282.6 million).

The selected developer will hold rights for toll collection during a concession period of 20 years and 11 months. Additionally, it will hold toll collection rights at the Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong highway section for four years and 11 months starting from 2030.

Nguyen Hong Truong, Deputy Minister of Transport, said:

"This year the MoT will focus on build operate transfer (BOT) project execution to evaluate the performance of each investor and project management unit, because these projects’ successful implementation gauges the flexibility and creativeness of transport sector members.”
