Blackrock appoints head of U.S. infrastructure debt

Erik V. Savi, formerly a managing director during more than three years at WestLB, has joined BlackRock as a managing director and head of U.S. infrastructure debt. He will report to Leland Hard, head of bank loans, and Jim Barry, Chief Investment Officer of the renewable power business line.

Mr. Savi built & led MetLife's Power, Energy & Infrastructure Investments Business and served as Global Co-Head of Private Debt Investments during nine years until 2007. He also worked for Philip Morris Capital Corp., Texaco and Merrill Lynch where he was Managing Director  of the Energy Credit Trading Desk.

In 2012, BlackRock hired Philippe Benaroya (ex-Managing Director of the Infrastructure debt fund at Blackstone) and Chris Wrenn (ex-Managing Director at Blackstone Infrastructure fund) and Gilles Lengaigne (ex-Principal at the Blackstone Group) to run a new infrastructure debt fund.
