Bouygues Energie signs street lighting PPP in France

Guérande, a medieval town in western France, and Bouygues Energie have signed street lighting public private partnership (PPP) project.

The preferred bidder will be responsible for the upgrade of the street lighting system, which is composed of 3000 points of light. The company will be also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the system for a period of 15 years.

The contract value is estimated at €7.7 million (US$8.45 million).

The project is expected to reduce the energy consumption of over 40% and highlight 39 special points of the medieval town.

Guérande is located in the département of Loire-Atlantique in western France. Since 2004, the medieval town of Guérande has been a member of a national network of 120 towns, the Villes et Pays d'Art et d'Histoire (Towns and Regions of Art and History). The fortified wall of Guérande is one of the best preserved and complete in France. Its circumference stretches 1434 meters.
