Brazil announces public public hearing for airport communications PPP

The Brazilian Ministry of Defense, through the Commission for the Implementation of the Airspace Control System (CISCEA), has announced the holding of a public hearing for the Management of the Integrated Communications Network of the Aeronautical Command.

The project was structured through an Expression of Interest Procedure (PMI), published in November 2015, in which the following companies participated: Harris Comunicações e Participações do Brasil Ltda.; Claro S/A; and Embraer S/A and its associated subsidiaries

The feasibility studies were presented jointly by Harris and Claro. CISCEA hired the Foundation Institute of Administration (FIA) to evaluate the studies presented.

The public hearing will take place on January 11, 2017 in Rio de Janeiro.

The PPP project will have a term of validity of 25 years and the concessionaire will invest BRL1.55 billion (US$473 million).
