Cube Infrastructure Fund II seeks EIB funding

Cube Infrastructure Fund II, a generalist infrastructure fund targeting on equity investments in medium-sized operators, is seeking funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The fund targets the development of infrastructure assets with a focus on western and northern Europe. The target sectors of the fund are solid waste, transport, energy and telecommunications.

The fund, which is targeting fundraising of €1,200 million (US$1,300 million), is seeking €100 million from the European Investment Bank.

The fund is promoted and managed by Cube Infrastructure Managers, who already manages the Cube Infrastructure Fund I, a fund specialized in middle market, mature, PIPE, and mezzanine investments. The first and the second fund will invest in the same sectors.

The first fund, with total commitments of €1.08 billion, had its final close in September 2010.
