Democratic Republic of Congo seeks interest for airport highway through PPP

Democratic Republic of Congo, through its agency Agence Congolaise des Grands Travaux (ACGT), has launched a tender process for the development of an airport highway PPP project.

The project involves the development of a 25 km toll highway between Kinshasa city center and the N'djili Airport.

The preferred bidder will be responsible for the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) of the new road for 25 years after a three year construction period.

Interested parties must submit their expression of interest (EOI) on or before 11 January 2016.

N'djili Airport serves the city of Kinshasa and is the largest of the four international airports in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In June 2015 a new international terminal, with capacity to handle about 1 million passenger per year, was opened.

Kinshasa  is the capital and the largest city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is an urban area with a 2014 population of over 11 million.
