Douglas Koelemay has been appointed as the new Director of Virginia's Office of Transportation Public Private Partnerships.

Koelemay served six years on the Commonwealth Transportation Board as an appointee of then Governor Timothy M. Kaine. Koelemay served as managing director at Qorvis Communications from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that position, he was Vice President of Public Affairs for the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine appointed Koelemay to the Commonwealth Transportation Board in 2006. Koelemay also assisted in advancing innovations in infrastructure finance with the U.S. Departments of Transportation and Energy.

Koelemay received his bachelor's degree in history from Centenary College of Louisiana with graduate studies at the Institute for International Politics at the University of South Carolina and at the Foreign Service Institute in Arlington.
