Franklin Templeton launches a global infrastructure fund

The investment firm, Franklin Templeton, has launched a global infrastructure fund designed to invest in infrastructure developments. The announcement of Franklin Global Listed Infrastructure Fund follows a strategy set by the firm to diversify in terms of asset classes.

The fund will be registered for sale in Luxembourg and will be overseen by Wilson Magee, director of Global REITS at Franklin Templeton, and head of real assets Jack Foster.

Franklin Templeton said the new fund will invest on a total return basis by investing infrastructure-related companies which have their principal business in ownership, management, construction, operation, use or financing of infrastructure assets.

In addition, the fund will be able to invest across infrastructure-related sectors, such as utilities, transportation and energy.

The fund will invest in both developed and emerging markets.
