Ghana seeks PPP partner for prison project

The Government of Ghana through it's Ministry of interior and the Ghana Prisons Service has announced the tender process for the development of infrastructure and accommodation facilities for the Ghana Prisons Service at a new site through a public private partnership (PPP) arrangement.

According to the tender ad, the infrastructure and facilities of GPS have deteriorated significantly and require urgent upgrade from its current state. GPS it self cannot organize the needed funding to redevelop its infrastructure and provide the decent accommodation for its personnel with dwindling budgetary allocation from Government and limited opportunities for internally generated funds, thus requires an alternative funding arrangement.

This assignment therefore is a PPP arrangement with a private developer who will offer GPS and opportunity to significantly develop modern correctional facilities in Accra with training workshops that will help transform inmates and reduce recidivism, as well as provide decent accommodation for the boost their image and commitment to service.

This request for proposals seeks to invite proposals from potential project developers interested to undertake the assignment. More details are available in the request for proposals (Terms of Reference).

Interested potential project developers may obtain further information from Ghana Prisons Service and inspect the RFP document at the address given below from 8.00am to 5.00pm daily .
