JetBlue Airways launches RFQ for JFK International Airport terminal

JetBlue has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to assess whether there are a sufficient number of interested and qualified private sector parties to participate in a competitive procurement process for the development of the Terminal 6 site and, potentially, the Terminal 7 at JFK International Airport.

JetBlue currently contemplates that the Project will include the following components:

  • Phased development of the Terminal 6 and potentially Terminal 7 sites.
  • The addition of international use gates.
  • Additional processor facilities (check-in, security screening, baggage screening and make-up, and the CBP Federal Inspection Site) to accommodate the passenger loads generated from the new gates.
  • Transformative changes to existing and/or the addition of new curb-frontage and roadways providing increased vehicle capacity and enhanced access to the terminals.
  • Enhancements to the existing AirTrain stations to provide inter-terminal connectivity and public transportation access.
  • evelopment of additional facilities and/or terminal amenities that maximize revenue potential and enhance the customer experience in the new facilities.

This RFQ follows the recently-launched RFP for the Performance of Expert Professional Planning, Architectural and Engineering Services for the Redevelopment of John F. Kennedy International Airport - Master Plan and Near Term Program Planning.

The deadline for interested bidders is on or before  11 August. RFP is scheduled to be launched in September.
