Michael Baker names two strategic Texas hires

Michael Baker International, a provider of engineering and consulting services, has announced today that Michael Clements, P.E., and Miguel Sanchez, P.E., have joined the firm’s Dallas and San Antonio offices (US), respectively.

In their new roles, Mr. Clements will manage Michael Baker’s Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) projects in North Texas, working alongside the CEI Practice Lead. Mr. Sanchez will manage transportation projects to better serve the growing Transportation Practice’s client base in South Texas. Both men will support clients’ construction challenges through the implementation of innovative and cost-effective solutions across all project phases.
 
Mr. Clements brings 21 years of transportation experience in construction, inspection, management, operations and maintenance to his new role at Michael Baker. Most recently, Mr. Clements served as the Assistant Area Engineer for South Tarrant County, responsible for managing a US$250 - $500 million construction program. He has worked for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for 16 years, including three years as the Construction Manager for urban and rural highway projects. He also has experience with design-bid-build, comprehensive development agreements and tollway projects including the US$117 million, 27.6 mile TxDOT Chisholm Trail Parkway, Section 3A in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mr. Clements earned a B.S. degree in engineering technology from Midwestern State University and has completed coursework in nuclear engineering at Texas A&M University.
 
Mr. Sanchez 18 years of transportation experience has been directly tied to roadway design and construction management services for various clients including: TxDOT; Harris County Toll Road Authority; Bexar County; Alamo Regional Mobility Authority; City of San Antonio; Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority and various municipal clients throughout South Texas. He also has worked as Project Manager for various TxDOT districts including San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Pharr, Tyler, Lufkin and Dallas.

Mr. Sanchez holds a M.B.A. in management from Our Lady of the Lake University, and a B.S. in civil engineering from the UniversitTexas at San Antonio. He also is a member of the South Texas Institute of Transportation Engineers.
