Preferred bidder announced for the Ilia waste management PPP project

The tender procedure for the implementation of a new waste treatment unit in Ilia via PPP, in Greece, concluded with the announcement of the preferred bidder, the consortium formed by Mesogeios, J&P Avax, and Aagis.

Other two teams submitted binding offers were the consortium made of Aktor Concesions and Helektor, and the consortium formed by Archirodon Group, Intrakat, and Envitec.

The project will be develop on a design, financing, construction, maintenance and operation basis for a period of 27 years. Once completed the facilities for the waste treatment unit will have a capacity of 80.000 tons annually, in the region of Ilia.

The waste management project of Ilia is the third PPP project in Greece procured with the competitive dialogue procedure and the third waste management PPP that combines private resources and EU funds, following the Peloponnese and Serres waste management PPPs.

Elis or Ilia, situated in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula, is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Western Greece. Elis is the second most populous regional unit of the Peloponnese after Achaea. Between 70% to 75% of the population live on fertile lands away from the mountains.
