Seven companies shortlisted for administration center in Guatemala

Guatemala's national agency for the development of economic infrastructure (ANADIE) has shortlisted seven companies for the state administration Center PPP project.

Although the names of the bidders have not been revealed, according to sources, among the seven firms shortlisted there are two companies from Spain, one from Brazil, another one from Switzerland and one from Mexico. There are also two consortia from Mexico-Guatemala and Korea-Switzerland.

The project will be developed in Tegucigalpa where the old central train station is currently located. The area under construction will be approximately 300,000m², the new facilities will have an area of 180,000 m² and 4,500 parking spaces.

The total investment of the project amounts to GTQ1.81 billion (US$234 million).

The project will be developed on  a design, build, operate and transfer (DBOT) basis. The contract will have a period of 20 years.

The contract is expected to be sign in early 2017.

In October 2014, we reported ANADIE launched a tender process to hire a transaction advisor for the project. The transaction was responsible to support ANADIE to define the tender process and to conduct a legal, technical and financial structuring of the project.
