Spanish town seeks developer for car park and shopping center concession

The Spanish town of Almendralejo has launched a tender process to develop an underground car park and a shopping center through a PPP project.

The new underground car park and the shopping center will be located in the same place where the old central market is placed. The project involves the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance of the new facilities during the concession period.

The total project investment is estimated at €7.98 million (US$9 million).

Almendralejo is a town in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain. It is situated 59 km south-east of Badajoz, on the main road and rail route between Mérida and Seville. As of 2010, it has a population of 33,975 inhabitants.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 17 June 2015.

Few days ago we reported that the government of La Rioja in Spain received five proposals for the San Millán Health Complex PPP project. The five teams were: Ferrovial, Obrascón Huarte Lain, S.A, QODA Construcciones and Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras S.A. (ACS Group), Acciona Concesiones and Sacyr Concesiones and Ismael Andrés.
