Tender launched for airport PPP project in Karnataka

The Government of Karnataka, India, through the Infrastructure Development Department, has recently issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for selection of a developer for development of Shivamogga airport through private participation on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.

The scope of work will broadly include development of the airport and city side infrastructure, and later operation and maintenance of the facilities of the airport under a long term Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1,350 million (around US$20 million).

  • Deadline: Last Date & Time for receipt of tenders    20/07/2016 11:00:00
  • Date & Time for Opening of Prequalification Bid    22/07/2016 16:00:00
  • Date & Time for Opening of Technical Bid    22/07/2016 16:30:00

In March 2007, the Government of Karnataka had planned the construction of the airport in Sogane, this initial project was estimated to cost Rs.1,940 million (US$29 million) but the process was canceled.
