Three teams qualify for Stanton Territorial Hospital renewal project

The Government of the Northwest Territories (Canada) has announced that three proponents have qualified for the Stanton Territorial Hospital Renewal PPP project.

The three proponents are:

The current schedule would see the Request for Proposal (RFP) issued in October 2014, a preferred proponent selected by July 2015, a contract finalized by the end of August 2015 and commencement of the five-year construction period in September 2015.

The project involves the design, build, renewal, finance and  maintenance of the facility for a period of 30 years.

The proposed renewal includes:

  • Renewal of the existing building (13,300 gross square meters);
  • Expansion to provide area for inpatient and critical care expansion (to approximately 24,000 gross square meters);
  • The addition of a support services building that may include laundry, biomedical services, information technology, warehousing, purchasing, materials management, and collaborative services; and
  • Tenant improvements for an outpatient rehabilitation center.

The Stanton Territorial Hospital is a 100 bed acute care facility. The inpatient units include, Intensive Care, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Medicine, Surgery and the Operating Room and Psychiatry. Stanton is accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation for a full three years. Stanton is also a partner with the Aurora College degree nursing program and the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta.
