TxDOT issues Requests for information for two highway projects TxDOT has received authority under Senate Bill 1420 to develop certain projects, including the SH 99 Grand Parkway project in the Houston area, as well as the I-35E Managed Lanes project in the Dallas/Fort Worth area through a public private partnership procurement process.TxDOT has issued a Request for Information (RFI) solely to obtain information to assist TxDOT on an administrative level. It does not constitute a Request for Qualifications (RFQ), a Request for Proposals (RFP) or other solicitation document nor does it represent a commitment to issue an RFQ or an RFP in the future.TxDOT is considering one of the following contract structures for both projects:• a full concession agreement,• an availability payment structure (with payments from toll revenues and government subsidies) or• a design/build agreement or design-bid-build agreements with traditional tax exempt toll revenue bonds.Grand ParkwayState Highway 99 (the Grand Parkway) is a proposed 180-mile circumferential highway traversing seven counties in the Greater Houston Area. It is divided into 11 Segments designated A through I-2.TxDOT intends to issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on August 15th and a draft Request for proposals (RFP) on November 17th. One-on-One meetings will be held on  July 18 - 20, 2011.See the RFI document here.

GP-GrandParkwayComponentsMapforRFI-05252011I-35E ProjectThe Project consists of the  redevelopment of a 28-mile section of Interstate 35E (IH 35E) from IH 635 to US 380 in Dallas and Denton Counties.The Project consists of three segments: north, middle, and south:- North Segment (FM 2181 to North of US 380): The total length of the North Segment is 10.5 miles.- Middle Segment (President  George Bush Tollway (PGBT) to FM 2181): The total length of the Middle Segment is 12.1 miles.- South Segment (I-635 to SH 190/PGBT):  The total length of the South Segment is 5.5 miles.The total capital costs to design, acquire right-of-way, address utility relocation and construct the Project have been estimated  to be approximately $3.863 billionRFI Closing Date:  July 20, 2011
TxDOT intends to issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on August 31th and a draft Request for proposals (RFP) on December 2th. One-on-One meetings will be held on  July 26 - 28, 2011.
