Uruguay tenders road PPP project

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works of Uruguay, Victor Rossi, has launched the tender process to develop the Route No. 14 PPP project.

The 291 km project involves the design, building, financing, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) of the Route No. 14 Center West, Sarandi del Yí Bypass and R14 -R3 connection as well as all the necessary studies to carry out the project. The duration of the concession contract will last 20 years since the signature date.

The deadline for submitting proposals is September 15th before 11:00 (local time).

In December 2015 we reported that the Ministry of Transport announced the schedule for four road PPP contracts, including the above-referred road project:

  • Western stretch of Route 14 up to Sarandí del Yí.
  • Western stretch of Route 26 up to Tacuarembó.
  • Eastern stretch of Route 14 from Sarandí Yí to Rocha.
  • Route 6 Motevideo exit through Avenida de las Instrucciones.

The government of Uruguay has plans to improve the country's road system. It is expected that several projects involving about 4,270 km of roads will be carried out.
