On January 29, 2014, three bidding offers were submitted for the selection of a private partner for the implementation of the Waste Treatment Unit in Ilia via a PPP in Greece.
The three teams that submitted binding offers are the following:
Terna Energy was selected on August 13, 2012, after seven consortia submitted expressions of interest, but it has not submitted any binding offer for the project.
The project will be develop on a design, financing, construction, maintenance and operation basis for a period of 27 years. Once completed the facilities for the waste treatment unit will have a capacity of 80.000 tons annually, in the region of Ilia.
The waste management project of Ilia is the third PPP project in Greece procured with the competitive dialogue procedure and the third waste management PPP that combines private resources and EU funds, following the Peloponnese and Serres waste management PPPs.
