Maritime museum on PPP basis in Mumbai I would like to bring you a little bit closer to a new project to be tendered in a PPP process. Although this is not a PPP infrastructure project I wanted to share it with you because you can see in it that PPPS are a way to carry out great initiatives without capital investment form the administration side.Maharashtra Urban Infrastructure Development Company Limited, (MUINFRA), a Company set up by Government of Maharashtra (GoM) to facilitate urban infrastructure development projects, has been directed by the Government of Maharashtra to manage the process of selection of a suitable private developer, for developing the 'Indian Museum Ship (IMS) Vikrant' as a commercially viable maritime museum on PPP basis.IMS Vikrant, India's first aircraft carrier, was decommissioned in 1997 and is to be operated as a 'Ship Museum'. Currently berthed at the Naval Dockyard at Colaba in Mumbai, it is proposed to be grouted at Oyster Rock Colaba and operated as a commercially viable maritime museum on PPP basis, by allowing permissible commercial activities on board. The RFQ document shall be available from 10th September 2010 on wards at the MUIDCL website . Interested parties are invited to submit their bids as per the RFP document. In case of any queries, you may contact Mr. Ajay Saxena, PPP Expert - Maharashtra ADB at Tel : +91-22-66155652 / +91-9969686697.Take care.
