Rhode Island pension fund tenders infrastructure investment management contract

The General Treasurer of the State of Rhode Island, acting on behalf of the Rhode Island State Investment Commission (SIC) , and specifically the Employees' Retirement System of Rhode Island (ERSRI), has released a Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified investment management firms  to provide infrastructure investment management services.

As of December 31, 2012, the ERSRI had approximately $7.5 billion in assets across a diversified portfolio of fixed income, real return, real estate, private equity and publicly traded equity assets The  infrastructure allocation is to be approximately 3% of the overall ERSRI portfolio and would be a segment of the Real Return allocation. Approximately $220 million may be allocated to several investment managers via this RFI process.
