Sound Global wins Chinese BOT Project

Sound Global Ltd. has announced that it has successfully won the tender process of a project to reconstruct and expand a sewage treatment plant at Urumqi City, in the Chinese province of Xinjiang.

This project, to be developed on a build, operate and transfer basis (BOT), will be invested by Sound Global with an aggregate investment of RMB153 million (US$25 million).

After the reconstruction and expansion, the upgraded sewage treatment capacity will be increased to 75,000 m3 per day from the existing designed capacity of 50,000 m3 per day. A new sewage treatment technology named multi-stage AO technology will be used.

The completion and operation of the reconstructed and expanded sewage treatment plant will basically satisfy the water required for the forestation of barren Yamalike Hill, for irrigation of green belts of the residential areas, as well as for cooling process in industrial operation and for future landscaping purpose.

Sound Global Ltd. announced last week it had signed a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project is located in Tacheng City of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The phase one of the plant will have a designed sewage treatment capacity of 40,000 m3 per day. The total investment for that project is estimated to be at US$13.1 million.
