Tender launched for water Feasibility Study in Kazakhstan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has launched a tender process to engage a consultant to prepare a feasibility study for the rehabilitation and modernisation of water and wastewater systems in the city of Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan.

The State Communal Enterprise Kyzylorda Su Zhuyesi is the only entity providing potable water supply services to 250,000 inhabitants, commercial and public sector customers in the city of Kyzylorda located in the south region of Kazakhstan.

The project's priority investment cost is estimated at US$14 million: US$10 million loan from EBRD and USD 4 million grant from the City Akimat. The final amount of the capex cost and contribution of each party shall be finalised as a result of the Feasibility Study.

The feasibility study shall include identification and a detailed assessment of the priority investment programme on the rehabilitation and modernisation of water and wastewater systems in the city, as well as preparation of an overall procurement and project implementation plans.

The assignment is expected to start in the beginning of the second quarter of 2014 and last for 16 weeks. The maximum budget available for the assignment is €295,000. Interested parties must submit their expressions of interest (EOI) on or before 27 March 2014.
