Established in 1948, BII has a long and successful history of supporting businesses in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Their mission is to drive sustainable economic development by investing in businesses that create jobs, improve livelihoods, and promote positive social and environmental change. BII invests in a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, renewable energy, financial services, healthcare, and education. Since its inception, BII has invested over GBP 8.2 billion (USD 10.4 billion) in businesses across 58 countries, supporting over 768 businesses in Africa and 601 in Asia. BII's portfolio has generated an average annual return of 6.1%, demonstrating its commitment to both financial and development objectives. It works closely with a wide range of partners, including governments, private sector companies, and development agencies, to maximize the impact of its investments.
