Highland Capital is a Central Asia-focused private equity firm founded in 2015 that specializes in providing growth capital to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Headquartered in Bishkek with an office in Tashkent, the firm combines international investment expertise with deep local market knowledge to support high-growth businesses through equity investments, strategic guidance, and improved corporate governance. Highland launched Kyrgyzstan's first independent institutional private equity fund in 2018, backed by leading international investors including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and has invested in 12 portfolio companies across consumer-oriented sectors. Through its second fund, Highland Central Asia Fund II, the firm aims to further strengthen the region's private equity ecosystem by expanding institutional growth capital for businesses across Central Asia.
