North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (often shortened to NCIC) is a major National Health Service (NHS) foundation trust in England that provides integrated hospital, community and specialist health services for people across North Cumbria and surrounding areas. Established on 1 October 2019 through the merger of the former Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust, NCIC aims to deliver safe, high‑quality care every time by bringing together a wide range of clinical services under one organisation. It serves a population of around 320,000–500,000 people across a geographically large rural area, offering more than 70 services from 15+ main locations, including Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, as well as multiple community hospitals and clinics. With 6,000+ staff, NCIC works in close partnership with local councils, GPs, voluntary organisations and the wider North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System to join up care across hospital and community settings, striving to improve health outcomes and wellbeing for local communities while embodying values of kindness, respect, ambition and collaboration.
