Scope was founded in Berlin in 2002 by Florian Schoeller as a firm specialised in the analysis of alternative investments. At that time the business’ principal focus fell on the German-speaking regions in Europe. In 2012 the shareholders and management took the decision to expand into the credit rating segment. As a platform for developing this new business the Scope Group acquired PSR Ratings, an ESMA-licensed company specialised in analysing corporates in the automotive sector. Scope is the leading European provider for credit ratings, fund analyses , solutions for assessing and monitoring risk.
