Simpar Group

Company description

Simpar is a leading Brazilian holding company established from a corporate restructuring of JSL in 2020. It oversees eight independent businesses—JSL, Movida, Vamos, CS Brasil, Automob, BBC Digital Bank, CS Infra, and Ciclus Ambiental—leveraging a unified management model to generate sustainable value across sectors like logistics, mobility, and financial services. Founded in 1956 by Portuguese immigrant Julio Simões, Simpar's journey began with a single truck transporting produce from Mogi das Cruzes to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Over the decades, it expanded through diversification, acquisitions, and a strong focus on client service and governance. In 2010, JSL went public, and a decade later, Simpar emerged as the unified holding guiding a new growth phase. Scope & Scale

  • Diverse Portfolio: Manages operations across logistics, vehicle rental, heavy equipment leasing, public services, auto dealerships, banking, infrastructure concessions, and waste management through its subsidiaries.

  • Workforce & Reach: Employs over 57,000 people, impacting thousands of communities through social programs like those led by the Julio Simões Institute.

  • ESG Leadership: A signatory of the UN Global Compact since 2014, Simpar has issued one of the first sustainability-linked bonds in its sector and set ambitious GHG reduction targets verified under SBTi.
