The National Pension Service (NPS) was established in 1987 to help secure the retirement benefits of Korean citizens with income security, thereby promoting national welfare in the case of retirement, disability or death.The national pension scheme is now available to all employees, employers, and the self-employed. The NPS has broadened its operation scope to include retirement planning and welfare services for the disabled, in addition to its basic services, such as contributors’ pension history management, contribution-imposing, and benefits payment.
