Soracle Corporation is a Tokyo-based joint venture established on June 3, 2024 by Japan Airlines (JAL) and Sumitomo Corporation, each holding 50% ownership. Its mission is to transform airborne mobility in Japan by harnessing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technology to create a more accessible, sustainable way for people to travel—especially in places where conventional transport is challenged by congestion or geography. Soracle aims to deploy advanced air-taxi services using aircraft such as the Midnight from Archer Aviation, and has already secured the rights and route-planning agreements to operate in major Japanese regions including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Hokkaido, Setouchi and Okinawa. Furthermore, the company has been selected to lead commercial air-taxi services in the Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City, marking a significant step in its implementation of regional air-mobility networks.
