Company description

Yorkshire Water is a water supply and treatment utility company servicing the Yorkshire region of north-east England, as well as parts of North Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.

The company provides 1.24 billion litres of drinking water every day across its service area. It owns a network of around 20,000 miles of underground pipes, collecting waste water from Yorkshire's homes, liquid waste from industry, and rainwater that falls on roofs and roads.

Since privatisation in 1989, the company has invested more than GBP20 billion in maintaining and improving its water and waste water services.
