AMP Capital boosts New York Infrastructure Equity team

AMP Capital has made two appointments to the  Infrastructure Equity team based in New York as it continues to build its  global infrastructure platform.

Michael Hamilton has been appointed Investment  Director and will focus on sourcing deals and managing assets owned by AMP Capital in the Americas region.  He was  previously Managing Member of Blue Wave Capital Partners and has held previous  roles at RBC Capital Markets and Hastings Funds Management.  Mr Hamilton joined AMP Capital on 8 December  2014.

Andrew Kirby has been appointed Senior Associate and  will focus on transaction support and execution activities.  He was previously Associate at Rothschild in  the Mergers and Acquisitions division focussing on infrastructure transactions  in North America and across Europe.  Mr  Kirby joined AMP Capital on 10 November 2014.

AMP Capital Head of Americas - Infrastructure Equity  Dylan Foo said:

"I'm very pleased to expand our presence in the Americas region  as well as further build upon our expertise in the power and energy sector  where we are seeing a lot of opportunities for our investors.  Michael has more than 15 years' experience in  energy-related infrastructure at both banking and asset management firms while  Andrew complements the team with excellent transaction execution skills and a  specific expertise in the utilities sector."

AMP Capital recently added new capabilities to its  global infrastructure platform following demand from institutional investors  who want to take advantage of the significant opportunities driven by the  global need for infrastructure.

Mr Foo said:

"Michael and Andrew are key appointments  to our world-class investment team as we expand and evolve our global  infrastructure platform, and continue to deepen our presence in North America.  The new-look platform now gives a broader  range of investors around the world a unique opportunity to tap into an asset  class that is going from strength to strength due to increasing investor  appetite and a compelling deal pipeline.   The mandate for the global infrastructure platform going forward is to  invest, on behalf of our clients, in additional assets in OECD countries in  sectors such as utilities, transport and communications and these appointments  will help us deliver on that mandate in the Americas region."

AMP Capital has been investing in infrastructure for  more than 25 years, making it one of the world's oldest and most established infrastructure investors.  According to  the 2014 Preqin Global Infrastructure Report, AMP Capital was the 6th most  active infrastructure manager globally during the last three years.
