Aquila Infrastructure acquires minority interest in Thames Water

Aquila Infrastructure Management has announced in a press release that an Aquila-led consortium has acquired aminority interest in UK-based Thames Water.

Thames Water is the largest waterand sewerage company in the United Kingdom. Thames Water provides services toLondon and surrounding areas, serving 14 million customers - about one-third ofthe total population of England and Wales.

Aquila's consortium includes its fund, the Infrastructure Coalition, and five other investors including TIAA-CREF, New Brunswick Investment Management Corporation, and Teachers' Retirement Allowances Fund. Aquila will manage the interest onthe consortium's behalf.

Aquila is located in Toronto and was established in 2009 as a full service investment management services firmfocused solely on the infrastructure sector. It delivers tailored investment solutions that offer advantages over traditional fund models.

Aquila's flagship fund is the Infrastructure Coalition, a closed-end investment vehicle with a mandate to invest in core infrastructure assets in OECD countries.
