Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions has been selected to design, build, and finance a on-campus housing project for the University of Houston-Victoria through a public-private partnership (PPP).
The new 380-bed housing facility designed by KSQ Architects, will include two and four-bedroom suites designed to incorporate living/learning communities within the residence hall, as well as fitness equipment, building-wide Wi-Fi, a TV and gaming lounge, and kitchens/lounges on each floor to serve the sophomore and upper division student population located at the University of Houston System's Victoria, Texas campus.
The total project investment is estimated at US$20 million.
The construction partner on the project will be Dallas-based Balfour Beatty Construction, a leading residential and commercial construction firm, and a sister division of Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions. Upon completion, the housing will be operated by the University.
The University of Houston System Board of Regents approved the project at their February board meeting and the project is expected to get underway in June for scheduled delivery in August 2016.
Bob Shepko, president of Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, stated:
"We are delighted to be selected to develop this important project for the University of Houston System.
