The City of Caraguatatuba, in São Paulo state (Brazil), and the consortium Caraguá Luz have achieved commercial closure for the city's street lighting PPP project.
The consortium is composed of Fortnort Desenvolvimento Ambiental e Urbano Ltda. and Urbeluz Energética S.A..
The street lighting project involves the design, implementation, expansion, modernization, operation and maintenance of the public lighting installations and the responsibility for the energy consumption.
The project contract has a period of 13 years and the contract value is estimated at R$198 million (US$58.7 million).
Caraguatatuba is a city in the eastern part of the southern state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2010 was 100.899, its density is 208.4/km² and the area is 484 km².
