Chile tenders new road concession

The Chilean Minister of Public Works has announced a new tender process for the Ruta R20, Nogales - Puchuncavi road PPP project.

The project involves the upgrade of the 27 km route and the development of a 16 km bypass to Laguna Maitencillo and Quintero.

The total project investment is estimated at US$210 million.

The project is part of the Infrastructure Agenda 3030, which was announced by Chile's President Bachelet in July last year.

Additionally the government of Chile has announced plans to spend US$4.2 billion on 14 urban infrastructure projects. As part of this plans the government will carry out a project to expand Santiago's underground train system, among others. It is expected that approximately US1.9 billion worth of the project will be offered to the private sector.
