China State Construction Engineering Corp. announces first PPP projects

China State Construction Xinjiang Construction Engineering (CSCEC Xinjiang) has been selected as the preferred bidder to develop 4 roads thought a PPP project in Urumqi, China.

With the total investment exceeding RMB2 billion (US$314 million), it is a municipal road project implemented in PPP mode consisting of 4 roads with the length of 14 km.

The project, located in Chengnan Business Zone of Urumqi, is an important road network in that area, which will effectively promote the economic development of the region upon its completion.

China is currently boosting the development of PPP projects. As part of this plans, China Construction Seventh Engineering Division Corp., Ltd (CSCEC 7th Bureau) signed in mid August a framework cooperation agreement for RMB3 billion (US$471 million) PPP projects with Zhoukou Municipal Government.

Based on the agreement, the two sides will cooperate on projects such as convention center, harbor dock, city center roads, square in front of high-speed rail station, etc.

Both companies are subsidiaries of China State Construction Engineering Corporation.
