Consortium selected for an entertainment and sports Arena Project in Australia

The AmplifyGC consortium has been selected to progress the development of the Gold Coast Arena in Southport, Australia. The project is a major infrastructure initiative led by the City of Gold Coast to develop a large indoor entertainment and sports venue in Southport. The arena is planned as a key legacy venue for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, highlighting its long-term importance beyond the event.

To move the project forward, the council selected the AmplifyGC consortium as the preferred proponent. This global consortium brings together major players such as Plenary Group, Live Nation, Built, along with design firms Cox Architecture and 3XN. These organizations collectively contribute expertise in infrastructure development, live entertainment, construction, and architectural design. Their role is to refine the arena’s design, financing, and delivery model through the next stage of the project. The arena is planned as a minimum 12,000-seat indoor venue, with potential expansion to accommodate larger audiences. It will be built at Carey Park in Southport and is expected to host concerts, sporting events, and major entertainment programs throughout the year. The project is being developed under a public–private partnership (PPP) model.

Currently, the project is in the Request for Proposal (RFP) stage, where detailed planning, investment strategies, and design elements are being finalized. A final agreement is expected around 2027, with construction likely to begin soon after and completion targeted for 2030, ahead of the Olympic Games.
