The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has announced that an Infraestrutura MG consortium, comprising Equipav and Perfin, won the 30-year concession for Varginha-Furnas highway in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Perfin is an independent investment company with two divisions: Perfin Asset and Perfin Wealth. The company is mainly involved in management, analysis, risk control, compliance, investor relations and operational practices. Equipav operates in the water and waste, engineering, transport, and agribusiness sectors. The Infraestrutura MG consortium proposed a fare of BRL13.17 (US$2.62). The contract covers 433 km and requires an investment of BRL2.6 billion (US$518 million) in improvements and maintenance.

The project involves the construction of the roads that are located between São Sebastião do Paraíso and Três Corações, covering 22 municipalities. The project includes duplication stretches of approximately 8 km between Varginha and Três Corações, implementation of approximately 30 km of additional lanes and 236 km of shoulders, in addition to the execution of various devices at road intersections.
