Contract awarded for USD692 million desalination PPP project in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) has awarded Lamar Holding the contract to develop a US$692 million seawater desalination facility in Saudi Arabia.

The project involves the development a seawater reverse osmosis desalination facility with a capacity of 80,000 cubic m per day. The facility is a part of the Jafurah gas project in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The project includes electric power facilities, as well as a water supply network with a length of about 200 km. By 2023, the plant will have a generating capacity of 270320 MW

South Korean developer and investor Kamco has signed a contract in July, 2021 to build a steam power plant to support a gas development project. Mowah Company is the investor in the project, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. acts as financial advisor whereas SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corp will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction.
