The government of Ecuador has awarded to local developer Verdú S.A. the concession contract for the Guayaquil-Salinas highway project on PPP scheme

The total investment for the project is estimated at certain US$234 million with a contract duration of 10 years.

The project involves the rehabilitation, maintenance and operation of 104.85 km of the Chongón-Santa Elena road system, which also includes the Progreso-General Villamil stretch of 27 km.

In addition, the project also envisages the operation of three toll stations, which includes the station that is already operational near at kilometer 24 of the road to the coast. Currently, US$0.25 of the toll cost is paid.

As we reported in early July 2016, the Ecuadorian government awarded the Rio 7 highway PPP project in Huaquillas. On the other hand, the tender process for the Santo Domingo - Quevedo – Jujan road PPP project is currently underway.
