Ferrovial Agroman, through its subsidiary Webber, has acquired Texan company Pepper Lawson Construction, which is specialized in water infrastructure and commercial construction.

The acquisition enhances the capabilities and resources of Webber’s water division. The company will also create a specific commercial construction division in order to diversify its offering.

Webber, which was founded in 1963, was acquired by Ferrovial Agroman in 2005 to facilitate access to Texas. The company is specialised in building transport infrastructure. It obtained 643 million euro in revenues in 2015 and has a backlog amounting to 950 million euro.

The Pepper Lawson acquisition will enhance Webber’s capabilities in the construction of water treatment plants and will facilitate development of subsidiary Cadagua in the North American market. Pepper Lawson’s annual revenues amount to 200 million dollars and it has a workforce of over 250.

Ferrovial Agroman has a lengthy track record of construction in the US, including projects such as the North Tarrant Express and the LBJ Express. It was recently awarded a beltway in Atlanta and a section of high-speed railway line in California, and it is providing engineering and initial design work for the Texas high-speed railway.

Cadagua and Webber landed its first water contract in the US in 2015: upgrading the Trophy Club wastewater treatment plant, in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, Texas.
