Guaratuba signs street lighting PPP

The city of Guaratuba, located in the state of Paraná (Brazil), has signed its first public-private partnership contract (PPP) in the public lighting sector

Local firm Tecnolamp do Brasil Lâmpadas e Acessórios Ltda. won the bid and was also the author of feasibility studies selected in the Expression of Interest procedure (PMI), published in April 2015, prior to the bidding. Two other companies that submitted bids under the PPP tendering.

The object of the administrative concession is the management, expansion, operation and maintenance of municipal street lighting. The term of the contract is 25 years and its estimated value is BRL60 million (US$18.4 million) 

The city of Guaratuba, popular for its beaches, has 35,000 inhabitants.

The company, one of the major companies operating in the public lighting sector in the country, has performed eight years the Christmas lighting project of São Paulo and the lightning of facades of important buildings.
