Haringey shortlists six for Tottenham regeneration project

Haringey Council has announced it has shortlisted six bidders for its £450 million (US$585 million) High Road West scheme which will see more than 1,400 new homes built, along with new business space and a major new public square in a new neighbourhood in Tottenham (UK)

The shortlisted companies are Barratt Developments Plc; Countryside Properties UK Limited; Lendlease Development Limited; Linkcity (Bouygues); Stanhope PLC., and  Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd. A final decision on the partner for this development will be announced by mid 2017.

The groundbreaking 11 hectare High Road West' scheme will deliver a new public space linking a revamped £14 million (US$18 million) White Hart Lane station to the new Spurs stadium, with a park, restaurants, bars, cafés, library and learning centre and a public area to host screenings and community events. Located close to Lee Valley Regional Park, London’s largest open space, the new £600 million (US$782 million) Tottenham Hotspur stadium, the High Road West development will be only 15 minutes from central London.

The High Road West development is the latest in a series of major investments in Tottenham which will see £1 billion (US$1.3 billion) of public and private backing to transform the area, with 10,000 new homes and 5,000 new jobs by 2025. This investment also includes:

  • The redevelopment of Tottenham Hale which represents the first phase of London’s largest Housing Zone in Tottenham. In partnership with Argent Related the programme will deliver around 800 homes (including market sale, build to rent and affordable), improved transport links, new shops, cafes and restaurants and community facilities including a health centre.

  • The £3 million refurbishment of The Marcus Garvey Centre which opened last month in Tottenham Green.

  • The Ada National College for Digital Skills which will open in Tottenham Hale in September 2016. The college will equip young people with the latest high-tech skills and qualifications from software programming and data science to games design and app development.

Advice on the High Road West project’s delivery is being provided by Bilfinger GVA, who is also advising and supporting Haringey Council throughout the OJEU Competitive Dialogue tender process.
