IFC seeks technical consultants for Waste to Energy PPP Project

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank, has launched a tender process to hire technical consultants for a Waste to Energy PPP project in Sri Lanka.

The Urban Development Authority (UDA) of Sri Lanka expects to develop a waste to energy (WtE) program for three sites in Colombo, namely Karadiyana, Meetotamulla and Kaduwela in a phased manner and as the phase 1 of the WtE program, UDA is keen to develop the Karadiyana site.

UDA has requested IFCs assistance in designing and successfully bidding a WtE plant of 600 TPD capacity in Karadiyana on a public private partnership (PPP) basis. IFC is keen to engage a consultant firm to undertake technical, commercial, environmental & social due diligence for the project.

Interested parties must provide, among others:

  • information of past experience in technical studies or detailed project reports for waste to energy projects.
  • information of past experience in waste to energy PPP projects.
  • information on the qualifications of key staff including waste to energy specialist and environmental / social specialist.
  • information on their core business and years in business.

The deadline to submit the solicited documents is 7 October 2015.
