IRB Infrastructure gets Haryana PPP project

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in early May awarded to IRB Infrastructure the four laning of the Kaithal - Rajasthan border section of National Highway-152/65 through a PPP project in the state of Haryana, north India.

The toll road project will be developed as build-operate-transfer (BOT) on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis for a period of 27 years. The project is under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase IV.

The project cost is estimated at Rs. 23 billion (US$392 million). IRB Infrastructure has sought Rs. 2,340 million (US$40 million) Viability Gap Funding from NHAI.

The project consists of the construction of a four lane road connecting Kaithal-Rajasthan border section of NH-152/65 from 33.250 km to 241.580 km in Haryana. The construction period is estimantesçd at 910 days. The total length of the road will be approximately 166 kilometres.

Last month, IRB had announced it had won the project of Four Laning of Yedeshi - Aurangabad section of NH-211 from km 100.000 to km 290.200 (design length 190 km) in the state of Maharashtra to be executed as BOT (Toll) on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) pattern under the National Highways Development Program (NHDP) Phase - IV.

The estimated project cost is approximately Rs. 32 billion (US$526 million). IRB Infrastructure will be responsible for the contract for a period of 26 years.

Last year, the company had several successes as well. It announced on December 26th, 2013 that it had achieved financial closure for the four Laning of Goa/Karnataka Border to Kundapur section of NH-17 from Km 93.700 to Km 283.300 in the state of Karnataka.

The firm also informed in December 2013 it had emerged as a preferred bidder for the project of Four laning of the Solapur-Yedeshi section of National Highway NH-211 from km 0.000 to km 100.000 in the state of Maharashtra.
