Kenya launches tender for hospital through PPP The County Government of Nyeri (Kenya), through the Department of Health Services, has launched a tender process to redevelop the Mt. Kenya Hospital.

The project involves the redevelopment of the Mt. Kenya Hospital, which  is currently a public level IV hospital, into a 200 bed capacity specialty hospital. In addition to the 200 bed capacity hospital, a doctors' plaza with 30 consultation rooms for lease is also proposed.

Once completed the hospital is expected to be a center of excellence in specialized health care service delivery in Kenya and indeed the Eastern Africa region. The medical discipline of interest includes but not limited to: Oncology, Renal, Heart, Opthamology and Trauma Medicine.

The hospital project will be developed through a public private partnership (PPP) on a design, build, finance, operation and transfer (DBFOT) basis.

The County Government of Nyeri has launched a request for expressions of interest (RFEOI) for the project. Interested parties must submit their EOIs on or before 19 May 2015.
