NCDOT hires P3 advocate as CFO

North Carolina's Department of Transportation (NCDOT) announced last week that David Tyeryar will serve as NCDOT's new Chief Financial Officer, beginning Monday, April 21.

The press release read:

David's strategic and innovative financial planning, oversight and leadership experience will be critical as our department continues to look for new ways to meet growing transportation infrastructure demands, while facing a continuing decline in traditional revenue sources.

Most recently, David served as Deputy Secretary and CFO for the Virginia Department of Transportation where he helped implement a number of funding reforms to help that state address similar challenges.

David helped pass Virginia's first comprehensive transportation funding plan in 27 years that provides $9.5 billion in economic investments.

He also established the office of Public Private Partnerships, which resulted in more than $5 billion in projects, using less than $1 billion in state funds.

David previously served as Budget Director and Accounting Division Manager for Prince William County, VA.

NCDOT thanked Mark Foster for his years of dedication and service in his role.
