NHS Orkney launches hospital NPD tender

NHS Orkney, one of the fourteen regions of the NHS Scotland, has issued a contract notice for the delivery of the new Orkney Hospital and Healthcare Facility NPD

The PPP project involves the design, build, finance and maintenance (DBFM) of a new hospital for a period of 25 years plus 3 years for construction.

The project has an estimated value between £180 and £220 million. The capital cost of the construction works is estimated at £59 million (US$101 million). The project will be delivered under  the Scottish Futures Trust's Non-Profit Distributing (NPD) model which is in the form of public-private partnership preferred by the Scottish Government.
